Paradigm Cirrus

The Microsoft Office 365 software and Cirrus online applications will be used to complete the hands-on assignments for this course. You are required to purchase an access code through the NICC online bookstore to gain entry to the Paradigm: Cirrus materials associated with your course. You should receive your access code via email, or you can find it in your eLibrary through the Bookstore website. Instructions for accessing your eLibrary can be found, here. 
 
Important! Set Your Chrome Settings
In order to ensure that Cirrus functions as expected, students must use Google Chrome, which can be downloaded here. Once Chrome has been installed, follow these steps to ensure Cirrus website access:

  1. Click this link to learn how to edit 'Cookies and Sites data'
  2. Navigate to 'Cookies and Site Data' and select 'Allow all cookies' (see below)

     

  3. Navigate to 'Sites that can always use cookies'
  4. Use the 'Add' button to the right of the Allow field to add the following two sites:

    lti.cirrus.paradigmeducation.com

    cirrus.paradigmeducation.com

  5. You should now be ready to move to the next section.

Getting Started with Cirrus:

    1. Purchase your book or Activation Code from the NICC Bookstore.
    2. Select your first assignment in the course.
    3. Enter in your Activation Code which came packaged with your textbook.
      • If you have not received your book and are not expected to by the first week of class, please let your instructor know so they can give you a 2-week trial.
    4. Click Submit Code.

      Note - Please use your @nicc email address when signing up for Cirrus services. 

Activate Office 365:

Office 365 does not come with your textbook, you will need to sign up for a free account with your NICC email.
    1. Go to mycampus.nicc.edu.
    2. Search for Office 365.
    3. Select the task from the list (or click Start if prompted).
    4. Enter your NICC email and select Sign Up
    5. Enter your information and the code that will be sent to your NICC email.
    6. Click Start when done.
    7. Open an assignment in your course and select the red Validate Now button.
    8. Log into your Office 365 account to validate it on the Cirrus application.
    9. Select one of the following options:
      1. I am on my own computer: Select this if you are using your personal device.
      2. I am on a shared computer: Select this if you are using a public computer.
    10. Once you have selected an option, Office 365 will be activated and you should now be able to access your assignments, exercises, and quizzes.
